The West Point Police Department is committed to the prevention of crime, the protection of lives, property and rights of all citizens and the improvement of the quality of life for all members of our community.
 
The West Point Police Department encourages the cooperation of all citizens to reduce and limit the opportunities for crime and to facilitate the maximum use of resources.
 
The West Point Police Department is headed by the Chief of Police Vernon "Butch" Curl.

Vehicles towed by the West Point Police Department will be towed to the city’s impound lot.  Operation hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Persons needing the release of their vehicles will need to come to City Hall 509 Elm Street West Point, KY 40177 for more information.  Vehicles will be subject to a one time administration fee of $20, a vehicle storage fee of $20 per day and a tow fee.  One will need to bring registration, proof of insurance and a valid driver’s license.
